Vaulted-Ceiling Kitchen with Gray Quartz

A vaulted-ceiling kitchen refresh with gray quartz counters, white raised-panel cabinets, a square-tile backsplash, and wide-plank oak floors, plus a retiled fireplace and a new built-in bar in the adjoining living space.

Finished kitchen with gray quartz bar peninsula, gas cooktop, floating oak shelves, and vaulted plank ceiling with skylight

Kitchen remodel in a home with vaulted plank ceilings, skylights, and cove lighting along the ridge. The existing raised-panel cabinets got a fresh white finish and new brushed-nickel knobs, and gray quartz-look countertops were fabricated on site and set on the L-shaped run and the angled bar peninsula, which seats two under a gas cooktop.

The sink wall got a square-tile backsplash and floating white-oak shelves, with a large black-frame picture window framing the back garden. Wide-plank oak flooring runs through the kitchen, dining area, and living room. Built-in stainless appliances — double wall oven, microwave, cooktop, and paneled refrigerator — carry through the white cabinet runs, with a dedicated coffee nook between the tall cabinets.

In the adjoining living space, the fireplace was resurfaced in glossy charcoal tile laid in a herringbone pattern with a white-oak box mantel, and a dark-stained built-in bar with an under-counter wine fridge and matching quartz top was added along one wall. Process shots show the herringbone tile being set and the quartz tops going in.
