This Folsom kitchen started as a 1990s builder package: honey-oak raised-panel cabinets, white tile countertops, a white double wall oven, and a drop-in gas cooktop under a microwave. The kitchen was stripped back to drywall and rebuilt with a new cabinet layout.
The new kitchen pairs white shaker uppers with light rift-cut white oak base cabinets, tall pantry, and oven cabinet, all with matte black hardware. An angled peninsula island got a thick quartzite-look stone top with an undermount sink and matte black spring faucet, and the same stone runs across the perimeter counters. The cooking wall now has a five-burner gas cooktop, stainless under-cabinet hood, and a pot filler set into a white brick-look tile backsplash with under-cabinet lighting. A combination wall oven/microwave sits in the oak tall cabinet, and a bar area holds a dual-zone glass-door beverage and wine cooler under white uppers.
Progress photos show the cabinet boxes being set: white uppers and the hood went in first, then the oak drawer bases with soft-close glides, and the tall oak pantry scribed into the alcove before counters and backsplash.
